At APW, we believe strongly in the advantages of a place-based approach to conservation. You will not find a large APW office in a city like Arusha or Dar es Salaam. In fact, our main headquarters is located within one of our partner villages. Therefore, as real neighbors, we believe it is important to help villagers address day to day issues and even larger problems that arise. This helps to build a spirit of community and demonstrates APW’s commitment to the people we live with. Examples of our support range from helping a local children’s choir to reach a regional competition, medical evacuations, and facilitating banking arrangements for the new Loibor Siret secondary school project.
