Teacher Training
In order to reach as many students as possible, APW’s conservation workbooks are taught by local school teachers. Teachers in the Maasai Steppe have been eager to introduce our workbooks into the classroom, but they have also voiced concerns about their abilities to teach the material which can often be new to them. Similar concerns arise when teachers participate in our national park study tours, since like their students, this is often their first trip into the park. In an effort to help empower local teachers and to improve their environmental know-how, APW conducts teacher training workshops for each partner school in our conservation education program.
