The Noloholo Environmental Center
In late 2006, APW made history when it became the first international non-profit in Tanzania to receive a donation of land by a Maasai village, direct evidence of our positive community relationships. Now the site of APW’s headquarters, the Noloholo Environmental Center is located in the Maasai Steppe of northern Tanzania, adjacent to Tarangire National Park. Included on the premises is a community educational facility where rural villagers can come to improve their understanding of the environment and develop hands-on skills in natural resource management. The only one of its kind throughout all of northern Tanzania, the Noloholo Environmental Center is an important resource for local communities, conservation organizations and government authorities throughout the North.
